Retaining walls, built from the ground up
Alpine Earthworks is an owner-operated excavation company in Port Angeles, Washington, working toward one thing: big block and boulder retaining walls done right.
How Alpine Earthworks got here
Alpine Earthworks started the way most excavation outfits do. Landon had put in his time in the field, running equipment and learning the ground around Port Angeles, and when he finally went out on his own the work was whatever the day asked for — site prep, gravel, drainage, general excavation.
That work paid the bills, and it taught him the part of the job most people never see: how water moves, how soil settles, what a slope will and will not tolerate. It also showed him what he actually wanted to build.
The jobs he kept thinking about after the truck was parked were always the walls.
Retaining walls are equal parts engineering and craft. Get the base wrong, skip the drainage, guess at the batter, and the wall tells on you a few winters later. Get it right and it holds a hillside, opens up a yard, and looks like it grew there. That is the work Alpine Earthworks is built around now — big block walls, boulder walls, and engineered structures for homes where the wall is part of the property, not an afterthought.
Excavation and site work are still on the table, and always will be for the people who call. But walls are the specialty, and the goal is a simple one: to be the name people in Port Angeles think of first when they need one.
